Many great hunting opportunities are allocated through the Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) draw. Because there is often an excess demand to hunt for specific species (moose), the Province administers a draw in order to give all hunter a fair opportunity to hunt, while limiting the number of animals that get harvested. EatWild will help you understand how the LEH draw works, plan your hunts, and get the most out of the LEH draw. The event will be an opportunity to get the support and guidance to fill out the LEH cards and enter the LEH draw.
This will be an open house event, and EatWilders (you) will get a chance to meet other hunters, enjoy a cold beverage, scheme up hunting adventures, and ask questions about hunting. We will even have a few door prizes this year.
EatWild hunting mentors, Larri, Geoff, Rob, Marshall and Celina will be available to help provide guidance, advice, and a few good stories throughout the workshop. We will help you fill out the LEH cards and enter the LEH draw. I will have LEH cards available for sale. They are about $6 each. You can enter one card for each species that is listed in the LEH synopsis.
We are being hosted at the Commercial Drive Legion from 7pm to 10pm. I will conduct a LEH “how it works” presentation at 7pm sharp. By 8pm we will break out into working groups, and with the support of the mentor team, you will fill out your LEH cards for the draw. There will be lots of room for us to look at maps, socialize, and plan our hunts for the season. Just remember to take off your hat while in the Legion. Costs are $10 entry and door prizes, $6 per LEH card.
