Workshop Overview – Learn to Shoot with EatWild
EatWild is offering a one day live fire shooting workshop at the Port Coquitlam & District Hunting & Fishing Club. This will be a hands on and practical opportunity for you build your knowledge and skills to become a confident shooter. The EatWild Mentors will work with participants to first develop basic shooting skills with 22 caliber rifles. Once participants have built the confidence and basic skills with small caliber rifles, the participants will then have the opportunity to practice shooting with various high powered hunting rifles.
The EatWild Shooting Skills Workshop includes:
- Mentoring and coaching from experienced firearms Instructors
- The opportunity to shoot various calibers of rifles to find out what caliber is right for you
- A supportive learning environment with other new hunters
- Guidance for firearm safety and range etiquette
- Field shooting exercises
- Tips on safe transport and storage of firearms
- Guidance on gun care and cleaning
- Access to firearms
The Shooting Skills Workshop is designed for new hunters with limited experience with shooting. Our goal is for the participants to develop the basic skills to be able to ethically harvest game. Our program is designed to help develop the fundamental principles and steps to become confident, ethical and safe shooters. Professional Firearms Instructor, Marshall Lowen, will be leading the workshop. Marshall been providing firearms training to new hunters , RCMP, Canadian Military, and Canada Border Services for over 40 years.
Registration and Costs
You must have completed you CORE or CFSC (PAL) to qualify for this workshop and be prepared to sign a waiver. Registered participants must also complete a pre-reading package (available here) before attending the workshop. Cost is $135 which includes 4.5 hours of instruction, a professional shooting coach, access to firearms, all ammunition, and targets.
